In order to stimulate school attendance, in 2002 the School Supplies Program was launched, addressing students from public primary and lower secondary education, day courses. At the beginning of each school year, packages with renewable school supplies specific to each grade are distributed.

The composition of the school supply packages granted to students is established based on the Methodology for applying the provisions of Law no. 126/2002 for the approval of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 33/2001 regarding the granting of school supplies.

The funding application submitted by the Ministry of National Education, at the beginning of September 2017, through the Operational Programme for Assistance to Disadvantaged Persons (POAD) 2014-2020, was approved. The decision allows, starting with this school year, the purchase of supplies for preschoolers, as well as the supplementation with backpacks of the packages of supplies given to students in primary and lower secondary education.
