In order to stimulate school attendance, in 2002 the School Supplies Program was launched, which is aimed at students in state primary and lower secondary education, day courses. At the beginning of each school year, packages with school supplies specific to each grade are distributed.

The composition of the school supplies packages granted to students is established based on the Methodology for the application of the provisions of Law no. 126/2002 for the approval of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 33/2001 regarding the granting guarantee of school supplies.

Funding application submitted by the Ministry of National Education, at the beginning of September 2017, through the Operational Program for Aid to Disadvantaged People (POAD) 2014-2020 was approved. The decision allows, starting with this school year, the acquisition of supplies for preschoolers, namely the supplementation with backpacks of the supply packages granted to students in primary and lower secondary school cycles.
