Recognition of qualifications and teaching positions by Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad*

The procedure is described in the Methodology regarding the recognition of the doctoral diploma in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad, as well as the quality of doctoral supervisor obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad, approved by the Senate of "Aurel Vlaicu" University of Arad on 25.07.2019 https://cdn.uav.ro/documente/Universitate/Calitate/Regulamente-Metodologii-Proceduri-Formulare/Metodologii/M06-Metodologie-recunoastere-doctorate-strainatet-rev-1.pdf. This methodology applies within the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of the ”Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad.

Teaching positions from higher education institutions accredited in member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other states included in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved by order of the minister of national education and scientific research and updated periodically, are automatically recognized by higher education institutions in Romania.

Teaching positions obtained at other accredited higher education institutions than those mentioned above are recognized only based on an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level.

The provisions of the methodology apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of states that are members of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens of third countries.

Occupying a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system is done according to the legal norms in force, namely the recognition certificate issued by CNRED, if the diploma was obtained at other accredited higher education institutions abroad.

The recognition file includes the following documents:
a) recognition request;
b) identity document - copy - and proof of name change - copy and certified translation (if applicable);
c) doctoral diploma, if the diploma was obtained in Romania or at one of the accredited higher education institutions mentioned above.
d) proof of the teaching position, issued by the institutions provided above.

Recognition of the teaching position by UAV, according to its own procedure, is valid and produces legal effects within the ”AUREL VLAICU” University of Arad.

Recognition of the teaching position by CNRED is valid and produces legal effects throughout the entire territory of Romania.

Doctoral diploma, if the qualification is obtained in Romania or at one of the accredited institutions of higher education mentioned below. Academic positions in higher education obtained in accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and at prestigious universities from other countries included in the List of Prestigious Universities from Other Countries, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research and periodically updated, are automatically recognized by higher education institutions in Romania. Academic positions obtained at other accredited higher education institutions than those mentioned above are recognized only on the basis of an international agreement of mutual recognition, concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level. The provisions of this methodology apply to Romanian citizens, citizens from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third countries. Occupying an academic position in the Romanian higher education system is done in accordance with the legal regulations in force, respectively the recognition certificate issued by CNRED, if the qualification is obtained from other accredited foreign higher education institutions.*
