The professional maternal assistant is the natural person, certified under the conditions of Government Decision no. 679/2003, who ensures through the activity carried out at their home the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children they receive in placement.

The person who wishes to become a professional maternal assistant will submit an application for the assessment of their capacity to DGASPC Mehedinți. The application must obligatorily mention the number of children for whom the applicant considers they can simultaneously provide optimal care conditions, the age group and gender of these children, the availability to care for children with disabilities, HIV-infected or suffering from AIDS.

The application will include the applicant's Curriculum Vitae as well as the reasons for which they wish to become a professional maternal assistant.
