The Case Management Service for Children ensures the protection of the child who requires the establishment of a protection measure that involves the raising, care, and education of children who are temporarily or permanently deprived of parental care, including children with special needs (children with disabilities, abused/neglected children, children with behavioral disorders, children with chronic illnesses, etc.) by a professional foster carer/family, at their home and in a residential-type service.

The professional foster carer is a natural person, certified as meeting the legal requirements as well as additional criteria approved by the DGASPC Galați, who, through their activity at their home, ensures the raising, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children placed in their care.

Individuals residing in the territorial area of Galați County who are interested in becoming professional foster carers must submit to the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Galați a request for assessment of their capacity accompanied by the documents mentioned below.

The professional foster carer certificate is valid for 3 years and is issued by the Galați Child Protection Commission.
