Registering a trademark application and a geographical indication at OSIM is not mandatory and is done for a fee, with the fee regime being established by Government Ordinance no.41/1998, regarding fees in the field of industrial property protection and their usage regime, with subsequent amendments and additions. The standard forms "National Trademark Registration Application" or "Application for Registration of a Geographical Indication" must be filled out in 2 copies accompanied by proof of payment of the related fees. These can be submitted online by following the link https://www.osim.ro/depuneri-online-marci, by mail or at the OSIM headquarters. The examination of a national trademark registration application or a geographical indication is conducted in accordance with the provisions of Law 84/1998 on trademarks and geographical indications, republished, as well as the Implementing Regulation.
