In order to stimulate school attendance, in 2002 the School Supplies Program was launched, which is aimed at students in state education, primary and lower secondary, full-time courses. At the beginning of each school year, packages with school supplies specific to each class are distributed.

The composition of the school supplies packages granted to students is established based on the Methodology for the implementation of the provisions of Law no. 126/2002 for the approval of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 33/2001 regarding the granting of school supplies.

Funding application submitted by the Ministry of National Education, at the beginning of September 2017, through the Operational Program for the Assistance of Disadvantaged Persons (POAD) 2014-2020, was approved. The decision allows, starting with this school year, the acquisition of supplies for preschoolers, as well as the supplementation with backpacks of the supply packages given to students in primary and lower secondary education.
