Enrollment in primary education is done based on a methodology approved by the Ministry of Education.

Thus, children who turn 6 years old by August 31, 2018, inclusive, must be enrolled in the preparatory class, in accordance with the Education Law.

Parents must go to school inspectorates and education units, these being obliged to ensure information and counseling regarding the enrollment process.

Lists with school districts must be posted at the headquarters of the inspectorates and education units, and parents must be informed about the content of the educational activities carried out in the preparatory class, the didactic approach, the organization of the school program, etc.

Children who turn 6 years old between September 1 and December 31, 2018, inclusive, can be enrolled if their psychosomatic development is appropriate.

All education units are obliged to provide information regarding the procedure for enrolling children in primary education, regardless of whether the parents are part of that district or not.
