The procedure is addressed to persons who wish to obtain the identity card upon acquiring/regaining Romanian citizenship.
In the case of minors who have reached the age of 14 and are not registered in the certificate attesting the acquisition canvas of citizenship by one of the parents, they are directed for clarification of the situation to—to the Ministry of Justice;
Upon the issuance of the identity document, the person in question will surrender the residence permit issued by the Authority for Foreigners to be sent to the issuing structure together with one of the copies of the certificate attesting issued by the Ministry of Justice or by the diplomatic missions or consular offices of Romania.
If the person no longer holds the residence permit, he or she is asked to provide a statement regarding the circumstances in which the document was lost or stolen.
