Civil status documents (birth, marriage, death or divorce certificates, extracts from the Civil Status Register, in original and/or court decision for administrative reconstitution of civil status documents) in original and in legalized copies for the holder and ascendants (parents, grandparents, great-grandparents), former Romanian citizens, and with legalized translation into Romanian, if applicable. For documents issued by countries signatory to the Hague Convention, the apostille is mandatory, according to the law.*

Declaration on own responsibility, authenticated by a notary or by the diplomatic mission of Romania, stating whether he/she wishes to acquire Romanian citizenship while retaining domicile abroad or establishing domicile in Romania. Consent of minors over 14 years old for acquiring Romanian citizenship given through a notarized declaration in the presence of a parent*

The document proving the payment of the citizenship card fee, both for the holder and for the minor children included in the application, where applicable.
