This procedure establishes the way in which the automatic recognition is carried out, within the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, of the quality of PhD supervisor obtained in accredited higher education institutions from abroad.

The provisions of this methodology apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens of third countries who have obtained the status of PhD supervisor in accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other states included in the "List of prestigious universities from other states", approved by OMECTS no. 5825/2016 and periodically updated.

The profession of doctoral supervisor is found at position no. A.8 in Annex no. 2 of Law no. 200 of 2004 regarding the recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications for regulated professions in Romania, with subsequent amendments and completions.*

Appeal routes

The decision of non-recognition may be appealed within 15 days from the date of notification, through a signed application submitted to the University Registry. Appeals are resolved within 5 days from the date of registration by the Appeal Resolution Committee. Subsequently, the final decision of the university may be challenged in the courts of law.
