Operational procedure regarding the request and issuance of certificates of authenticity, university documents such as diploma supplements/transcript/appendix with grades and other documents for graduates*
The procedure applies to graduates who have taken and passed the final exam for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral studies at the “Victor Babeș” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara.
Procedure regarding the recognition of the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences obtained abroad by the “Victor Babeș” University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Timișoara*
This procedure establishes the manner in which the “Victor Babeș” University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Timișoara (UMFVBT) recognizes the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field obtained abroad by Romanian citizens, citizens from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and by citizens from third countries.
The recognition by UMFVBT is performed for the purpose of enrollment in postgraduate study programs, obtaining habilitation, occupying a teaching or research position within UMFVBT, participating in programs and projects funded by European and international funds, or for other purposes related to teaching and research activities within UMFVBT.
*Procedure regarding the recognition of teaching positions in university education obtained in accredited foreign university institutions by the "Victor Babeş" University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Timişoara*
This methodology aims to establish the method for automatic recognition at the level of the "Victor Babeș" University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Timișoara (hereinafter referred to as UMFVBT) of academic teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad. The automatic recognition of academic teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad is carried out based on the Higher Education Law no. 199/2023, with subsequent amendments and completions, Law no. 183/2024 concerning the status of research, development, and innovation personnel, Law no. 200/2004 regarding the recognition of diplomas and qualifications for regulated professions in Romania, as well as Minister of Education Order no. 6753/2023 for the approval of the Methodology regarding the automatic recognition, by higher education institutions, of academic teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad.
UMFVBT is an accredited higher education institution according to the legislation in force and, in this capacity, automatically recognizes academic teaching positions obtained in higher education institutions accredited in the member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious higher education institutions from other states included in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved by the Minister of Education Order no. 4002/2024, updated periodically.
The provisions of this order apply to Romanian citizens, citizens from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third countries. Occupying a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out in accordance with the legal norms in the force.

Procedure regarding the automatic recognition of the status of PhD supervisor and habilitation obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad by the "Victor Babeş" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timişoara*
The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens of third countries, who have acquired the legal right to supervise doctorates in accredited higher education or research and development institutions abroad.
They can obtain the habilitation recognition certificate, as follows:
a) specialists who have the status of doctoral supervisor in one of the member states of the European Union or the European Economic Area or in the Swiss Confederation automatically acquire the status of doctoral supervisor in Romania through the recognition and issuance of the habilitation recognition certificate by IOSUD - UMFVBT;
b) specialists who have the status of doctoral supervisor in one of the higher education institutions outside the countries mentioned in point a), among the most prestigious higher education institutions in the world, according to the provisions of the order of the Minister of Education regarding the approval of the list of prestigious universities from other states, automatically acquire the status of doctoral supervisor in Romania through the recognition and issuance of the habilitation recognition certificate by IOSUD - UMFVBT;
c) specialists who are doctoral supervisors within institutions abroad, other than those provided in point a) or b), acquire the status of doctoral supervisor in Romania through the recognition and issuance of the habilitation recognition certificate by IOSUD – UMFVBT, based on an international mutual recognition agreement. The exercise of the rights conferred by the status of doctoral supervisor in the Romanian higher education system is carried out according to the legal norms in force.
