The procedure establishes the way in which the automatic recognition, by UNATC, of teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions in member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and universities included in the List of prestigious universities from other countries, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and periodically updated, is carried out. Teaching positions obtained at other accredited higher education institutions than those mentioned above are recognized only on the basis of an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level.

The procedure applies to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third countries.

The exercise of the rights conferred by the status of doctoral supervisor and the holding of a teaching position in the Romanian system of higher education are carried out in accordance with the legal norms in force.

​The documents submitted in the file must be in Romanian, with authorized and legalized translation. Recognition files that do not contain all the mentioned documents will not be accepted.

The recognition of the teaching position by the National University of Theatre and Film is valid and produces legal effects at the level of UNATC.

UNATC “I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest recognizes the status of doctoral supervisor, obtained in accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and prestigious universities from other states listed in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved by order of the minister of national education, provided that the applicant proves compliance with the standards applied to all members of the Doctoral School in accordance with the field of specialization.

The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third countries.

Only in the case of temporary exercise, the provisions of Law no. 200/2004 and art. 296 of the National Education Law no. 1/2011 apply directly.

The exercise of rights conferred by the status of doctoral supervisor and the occupation of a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out in accordance with the legal regulations in force.

The automatic recognition of doctoral supervisor status by UNATC does not automatically confer the status of member of the doctoral school within the university.

UNATC “I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest, as IOSUD, may request other documents for the recognition file, in accordance with the criteria established in its own procedures, in order to determine the fulfillment of the specific standards of the UNATC Doctoral School.

Recognition of the status of doctoral supervisor or habilitation by UNATC “I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest, according to its own procedure, is valid and produces legal effects at the university level.

This procedure regulates the recognition of the doctoral diploma and the doctor title obtained abroad, in the doctoral fields accredited within IOSUD - National University of Theatre and Film Arts; IOSUD-UNATC recognizes the doctoral diploma and the doctor title obtained at Parsons:

a) accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation; b) accredited higher education or research institutions included in the List of prestigious universities from other states approved by order of the Minister of National Education and updated periodically; c) accredited higher education institutions which are the subject of international agreements on mutual recognition, concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level;

IOSUD-UNATC recognizes the doctoral diploma and the doctor of science title for the purpose of enrolling in postgraduate programs, obtaining habilitation, or occupying a teaching or research position within the university.

​The recognition of the doctoral diploma and the doctor title by the National University of Theatre and Film Arts is valid and produces legal effects at the level of UNATC.
