Suspension of membership*

The suspension of membership occurs when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits to the headquarters of the territorial College, i.e., the College of Pharmacists Sibiu, a request by which they ask for the suspension of their membership. At the time they request this suspension, the pharmacist must have the membership fee paid until the end of the year and must fulfill the continuous professional training condition with a number of 40 EFC hours for the respective period.

In support of the requests made, the documents listed below are attached.

The pharmacist undertakes to inform the College of Pharmacists of Romania within 30 days from the resumption of activity.

Registration in the College of Pharmacists of Romania*

The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, making an express request in this regard, meet the following conditions: hold an official qualification in pharmacy, are not found in any of the cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law, are medically fit to practice the profession of pharmacist, have not interrupted the exercise of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained their bachelor's degree in the last 5 years, have paid the registration fee (the fee is paid into the Territorial College account ROBTRL0002000853680100 LIBRA BANK SIBIU in the amount of 10% of the minimum wage, according to the legislative changes in force.

For pharmacists who did not register within 5 years from graduation, they will take the professional re-certification exam, in order to practice the profession and shall pay a fee of 500 lei according to Decision no.1/2018 published in MOF 1249 of 11.12.2024

Duplicate member certificate*

In order to proceed with the issuance of a duplicate of the Member Certificate of the College of Pharmacists in Romania, the applicant must submit the complete documentation at the headquarters of the College of Pharmacists Sibiu, in accordance with the provisions of Decision no. 4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists in Romania, the documents presented below.

The fee for issuing a duplicate of the Member Certificate is 150 lei, according to Decision no. 1/2018 published in MOF 1249 dated 11.12.2024

Pharmacist transfer*

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request. Before issuing the transfer note, the requesting pharmacist is obliged to pay up to date the membership fee owed to the college from which they wish to depart. The transfer note will be handed, under signature, to the applicant. In the pharmacists' registration register (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm), the college to which the pharmacist has been transferred will be mentioned. If a complaint has been registered against the pharmacist at the level of the college from which they are transferring or a disciplinary investigation has been started, the complaint, or the disciplinary file, will be sent to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.

Resumption of membership*

The resumption of membership is done based on an application, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits to the headquarters of the Territorial College, namely the Sibiu College of Pharmacists, through which they request the resumption of membership starting from a certain date.

Current professional certificate*

Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in the consolidated form as published in Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Implementation Norms published in Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishment of new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the chief position), shall address the county colleges for obtaining the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country’s borders.

The methodology for drafting and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of C.F.R. no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below, we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:
- The Current Professional Certificate will be drafted by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college to which the applicant is registered;
- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issue;
- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send to the College of Pharmacists of Romania the standard request for drafting and issuance of the document;
- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the request, C.F.R. will draft the certificate and send it to the territorial college;
- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania which will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;
- The territorial college will prepare a Record Register – with identification data of Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county – and will deliver them to the applicants with acknowledgement of receipt.

The fee for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, in the amount of 150 lei, according to Decision no.1/2018 published in MOF 1249 of 11.12.2024, shall be paid into the account of the territorial College RO62BREL002000853680100 LIBRA BANK SIBIU.
