Recruitment, evaluation and training of persons who can become professional foster carers. Certification of professional foster carers*

The operational procedure presents the way in which the recruitment, evaluation, and training of persons who wish to become professional foster carers is carried out, as well as the accreditation of professional foster carers capable of providing the upbringing and care of children temporarily or permanently separated from their parents. The professional foster carer is the individual, accredited under the terms of Government Decision no. 679/2003, who ensures, through activities carried out at his or her own home, the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children received in placement. The person who wishes to obtain the professional foster carer accreditation submits an evaluation request for obtaining the accreditation, addressed to DGASPC Botoșani, to which supporting documents are attached (copies of identity documents and diplomas, criminal record). Following the evaluation, applicants will submit a request for the issuance of the professional foster carer accreditation to the Child Protection Commission Botoșani, in which it is mandatory to mention the number of children for whom the applicant believes they can simultaneously provide optimal care conditions, the age group and sex of these children, as well as the availability to care for children with special needs.
