Registration in the College of Pharmacists of Romania*

The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, by submitting an express request in this regard, meet the following conditions: hold an official qualification in pharmacy, are not in any of the cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law, are medically fit to practice the profession of pharmacist, have not interrupted the practice of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained the bachelor's degree in the last 5 years, have paid the registration fee (the fee is paid into the territorial college account RO77BRDE190SV01173991900 in the amount of 208 lei for persons who registered within 1 YEAR after graduation and 235 lei for other persons).

Transfer pharmacist*

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request. Before issuing the transfer note, the requesting pharmacist is obliged to pay up to date the membership fee owed to the college from which they wish to leave. The transfer note will be handed, with a signature, to the applicant. In the pharmacists' record register (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm), the college to which the pharmacist has transferred will be mentioned. If a complaint has been filed or a disciplinary investigation has been initiated at the college from which the pharmacist is transferring, the complaint or disciplinary file will be forwarded to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.

Duplicate member certificate*

In order to proceed with the issuance of a duplicate Member Certificate of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the applicant must submit the complete documentation at the headquarters of the College of Pharmacists Bucharest, in accordance with the provisions of Decision no. 4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the documents presented below.

Request for Current Professional Certificate*

Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we wish to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in the consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Application Rules published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of the establishment of new pharmaceutical units, as well as the changes of chief pharmacist – for those who will take over the position), will address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is required for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country's borders.

The methodology for drawing up and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be drafted by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issue;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for the issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send to the College of Pharmacists of Romania the standard application for drawing up and issuing the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from the receipt of the request, the College of Pharmacists of Romania will draw up the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will keep a Register – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county – and will hand them over to the applicants with a receipt signature.

The issuance fee for the Current Professional Certificate, amounting to 100 lei, will be paid into the account of the territorial College.

To obtain the Current Professional Certificate, the pharmacist will submit to the territorial college a file that will include the documents attached below.

Suspension of membership*

The suspension of membership is done when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits to the headquarters of the territorial College, respectively the College of Pharmacists Bucharest, a request by which they ask for the suspension of their membership. At the time of requesting this suspension, the pharmacist must have paid the membership fee until the end of the year and must fulfill the condition of continuous professional development with a number of 40 EFC hours for the respective period.

The pharmacist is obliged to inform the College of Pharmacists of Romania within 30 days of resuming activity.

Resumption of membership*

Resumption of membership is based on an application, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits at the headquarters of the Territorial College, respectively the Bucharest College of Pharmacists, through which they request the resumption of membership starting from a certain date.
