Recruitment, evaluation, and training of foster persons/families/professional foster carers as well as certification of professional foster carers*
The professional maternal assistant is the individual certified under the conditions of Government Decision no. 679/2003 regarding the conditions, procedures, and status of the professional maternal assistant and according to Government Decision no. 502/2017 regarding the organization and functioning of the Commission for Child Protection, who, through the activity carried out at their home, provides the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children they receive in foster care.
By placing the child with the Professional Maternal Assistant (PFAMP), protection is ensured for the child who needs the establishment of a special protection measure that requires the upbringing, care, and education of the child by a foster person/family (P.F.) or a professional maternal assistant (A.M.P.), and this protection also includes placing the child in emergency foster care.
