Operational procedure regarding the recognition by UVT of academic teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad.*
This procedure regulates the automatic recognition at the West University of Timișoara (UVT) of academic positions in higher education obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad, for the purpose of filling a vacant academic position within UVT, participating in competition commissions for filling academic and research positions within UVT, etc.
The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third countries.
"Art. 4. UVT is an accredited higher education institution according to legal regulations and, as such, automatically recognizes academic positions in higher education obtained in accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and from prestigious universities in other countries included in the List of Prestigious Universities from Other Countries, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research and updated periodically."
"Art. 5. Academic positions obtained at other accredited higher education institutions than those mentioned in art. 4 shall be recognized only on the basis of an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level."
"Art. 7. The commission that evaluates the recognition file and makes the decision regarding the recognition request, hereinafter referred to as the Evaluation Commission, consists of 3 members: 1 tenured academic staff member from the department related to the applicant's specialization, the Dean of the faculty, and 1 representative of the UVT Center for Information and Documentation Resources. The tenured academic staff member, member of the Evaluation Commission, shall be appointed by the Dean, with the approval of the Faculty Council." Issuance of duplicate
In case of loss, destruction, or deterioration of the recognition decision, UVT issues, upon request, a duplicate of it.
*Operational procedure regarding the recognition, by UVT, of the status of PhD supervisor obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad*
The purpose of this procedure is to regulate the recognition at the level of the West University of Timișoara (UVT) of the quality of PhD supervisor, for affiliation to the doctoral schools within IOSUD-UVT.
Recognition of the quality of PhD supervisor obtained abroad is achieved based on Order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research no. 5921/2016 for the approval of the Methodology regarding automatic recognition, by higher education institutions, respectively institutions organizing doctoral university studies in Romania, of the quality of PhD supervisor obtained in accredited university education institutions abroad.
(1) The quality of PhD supervisor or habilitation obtained in accredited university education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, from the Swiss Confederation, and at prestigious universities from other states listed in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved by order of the minister of national education and scientific research no. 5825/2016 and updated periodically, is automatically recognized by UVT.
(2) The quality of PhD supervisor or habilitation obtained at other accredited university education institutions abroad than those mentioned in paragraph (1) is recognized only on the basis of an international reciprocal recognition agreement concluded at the intergovernmental or interuniversity level.
(3) The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, from the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third states.
The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, from the Swiss Confederation and citizens from third states, who have obtained teaching positions in accredited university education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, from the Swiss Confederation and at prestigious universities from other states included in the "List of prestigious universities from other states", approved by OMECTS no. 5825/2016 and updated periodically.
*Procedure regarding the recognition at UVT of the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field, obtained at accredited higher education institutions abroad*
The purpose of this procedure is to regulate the recognition, at the level of West University of Timișoara (UVT), of the doctoral degree and the title of Doctor of Science or in a professional field, obtained abroad, for the purpose of enrolling in postgraduate programs, obtaining habilitation, or occupying a teaching or research position within UVT.
The recognition of the doctoral degree and the title of Doctor of Science or in a professional field, obtained abroad, is carried out based on the Order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research no. 5923/2016 for the approval of the Methodology regarding the recognition of the doctoral degree and the title of Doctor of Science or in a professional field, obtained abroad.
The study documents subject to recognition are authenticated with the Hague Apostille for countries that are parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, while for other countries the study documents are superlegalized or accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity issued by the competent authorities from the country of origin.
The committee that evaluates the recognition file and issues the decision regarding the recognition request, hereinafter referred to as the Evaluation Committee, includes 5 members: the director of the doctoral school in the field of the thesis submitted for recognition, a member of the doctoral school specialized in the field of the doctoral thesis, the chief secretary of UVT, a representative of the Doctoral Studies Office, a representative of the UVT Information and Documentation Resource Center. The representatives of the doctoral school and the Doctoral Studies Office are appointed by Decision of the CSUD Director (Appendix 2). In the event that recognition of a doctoral degree and title is requested in a field that is not included in the structure of IOSUD-UVT, CSUD will propose a committee that may include members from other IOSUDs and may have a structure different from the one mentioned above.
