In order to stimulate school attendance, in 2002 the School Supplies Program was launched, which addresses students in state primary and secondary education, day courses. At the beginning of each school year, packages with school supplies specific to each grade are distributed.
The composition of the school supply packages granted to students is established based on the Methodology for the Application of the Provisions of Law no. 126/2002 for the approval of Government Emergency Ordinance no. 33/2001 regarding the granting of school supplies.
Funding request submitted by the Ministry of National Education, at the beginning of September 2017, through the Operational Program Aid for Disadvantaged Persons (POAD) 2014-2020 was approved. The decision allows, starting with this school year, the purchase of supplies for preschoolers, and the supplementing with backpacks of the supply packages granted to students in primary and secondary education.
