The natural persons interested to perform metrological verifications in a metrological laboratory must apply for an examination in order to obtain the verification officer authorization. The application may also be made by the legal persons where the natural persons seeking authorization are employed. The application accompanied by the documents required by the legal metrology procedure PML 5-01-05 “Authorization of natural persons”, 2nd edition, approved by Order no. 61/02.03.2011 of the BRML Director General, will be lodged at the head office of the territorial BRML unit. The authorization will be issued within 30 days after the registration of application. General information is available at the head offices of the Legal Metrology Regional Directorates and Legal Metrology County Services.

In accordance with the provisions of art. 29(1) of the legal metrology instructions IML 5-05 Authorization of natural and legal persons who carry out metrological verifications, approved by Government Decision no. 1660/2005, with subsequent amendments and additions, any decision to deny authorization is properly motivated, communicated to the applicant within 10 working days from the date it is made, and in the decision, the possibility for the applicant to address the competent courts, under the conditions of the law, is specified.
