The procedure establishes the method for the automatic recognition at Transilvania University of Brașov of the quality of PhD supervisor or habilitation obtained in accredited institutions of higher education or research and development from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other states listed in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved/updated by order of the relevant minister, and it is automatically recognized by IOSUD-Transilvania University of Brașov (IOSUD-UNITBV).

The quality of PhD supervisor or habilitation obtained in accredited institutions of higher education or research and development from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other states listed in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved/updated by order of the relevant minister, is automatically recognized by IOSUD-Transilvania University of Brașov (IOSUD-UNITBV).

The quality of PhD supervisor or habilitation obtained in accredited institutions of higher education or research and development is recognized by IOSUD-UNITBV for the doctoral fields authorized/accredited to operate within the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School (SDI) of IOSUD-UNITBV. In case IOSUD-UNITBV does not have in its structure the field for which recognition is requested, by exception, for the establishment of that doctoral field, recognition is made within the branch of science to which the respective field belongs, provided in the nomenclature of fields and specializations/university study programs and the structure of higher education institutions, approved by government decision.

The quality of PhD supervisor or habilitation obtained at accredited institutions of higher education or research and development abroad, other than those mentioned, is recognized based on an international agreement for mutual recognition.

The recognition of the quality of PhD supervisor or habilitation by IOSUD-UNITBV is valid and produces legal effects only at the level of Transilvania University of Brașov.

Payment details: The processing fee for files requesting recognition of the quality of which of PhD supervisor or habilitation is 150 lei/file.

The application must obligatorily mention all contact (correspondence) details of the applicant, for the purpose of communication throughout the recognition process, the applicant assuming responsibility for the accuracy of the declared information. Failure to resolve the application cannot be attributed to the university if the applicant does not follow the received correspondence or does not respond promptly to requests regarding the recognition file.*

Appeal routes

In the case of a decision not to recognize the status of doctoral supervisor or habilitation, the applicant is also informed of the reasoned resolution of the evaluation committee, and may file an appeal within 30 days from the date of confirmation relative to receipt of the decision. The appeal is to be formulated in writing, substantiated, registered and submitted to the registry of Transilvania University of Brașov.

The appeal submitted by the applicant will be analyzed and resolved by the Council for University Doctoral Studies (CSUD) of IOSUD-UNITBV within no more than 30 days from the date of registration at the university. The CSUD's decision on the appeal is irrevocable at the level of Transilvania University of Brașov and is communicated to the applicant at the correspondence address indicated.
