The family support allowance is a form of aid for families with low incomes, up to 530 lei per family member, who are raising and caring for children up to 18 years old. The granting of the family support allowance aims to supplement the incomes of families in order to ensure better conditions for raising and educating children, as well as to encourage children of school age, who are in the care of families with low incomes, to attend educational courses organized in accordance with the law, according to art.1, par.2 of Law no. 277/2010 regarding the family support allowance, republished, with subsequent amendments and additions.
If the family owns, rents, uses under loan for use, or holds in any other form at least one of the assets listed in the list of assets that lead to the exclusion of the granting of social assistance, provided in art. 8, par. (2) and (3), of Law 416/2001 (Annex no. 3 of Government Decision 778/2013), it does not benefit from the allowance.
