Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law No. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette No. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Application Rules published in Official Gazette No. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishing new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the position), will address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country's borders.

The methodology for preparing and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of the Romanian Pharmacists’ College No. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I No. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below we present the main provisions of Decision No. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the Romanian Pharmacists’ College and issued by the territorial college at which the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issue;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard application to the Romanian Pharmacists’ College for preparing and issuing the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the application, the Romanian Pharmacists’ College will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the Romanian Pharmacists’ College, which will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will prepare a Register of records – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in that county – and will hand them over to applicants against a signed receipt.

The fee for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, amounting to 150 lei, shall be paid to the account of the territorial college RO03BRDE230SV07271202300
