Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești*

The Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești recognizes the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad at:

a) accredited higher education or research–development institutions from a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and from the Swiss Confederation;

b) accredited higher education or research–development institutions included in the List of prestigious universities from other countries, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and updated periodically;

c) accredited higher education or research–development institutions that are subject to an international convention of mutual recognition, concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level.

The doctoral diploma or the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field, obtained at accredited higher education or research–development institutions abroad, other than those provided for in art.1, are recognized by the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED), which, in justified cases, may request the evaluation of the recognition file by the tenor of the National Council for Attestation of Titles, Diplomas and University Certificates (CNATDCU).

The Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești collaborates permanently with unat in order to recognize the diplomas provided for in art. 1 and submits a centralized record of recognition requests every semester.

Recognition is carried out for the purpose of enrollment in postgraduate programs, obtaining habilitation, or holding a teaching or research position at the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești.

• This procedure regulates the automatic recognition, at the level of the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești, as IOSUD, of the status of doctoral supervisor and the rights conferred by this status, for affiliation to the doctoral school/schools within the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești.
• The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, as well as citizens of third countries.
• The process of recognizing the status of doctoral supervisor or habilitation obtained in accredited higher education institutions in member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other countries listed in the List of prestigious universities from other countries is organized and carried out within the Doctoral School of the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești.
• Only in the case of temporary exercise, the provisions of Law no. 200/2004 and Art. 296 of the National Education Law no. 1/2011 apply directly:
  • (1) Reserved, vacant or temporarily vacant teaching positions are filled with priority by tenured teaching staff of the institution or by associated teaching staff, through hourly pay, according to this law.
  • (2) The employment of specialists with recognized scientific and professional value in the field, from the country or abroad, as invited associated teaching staff, is endorsed by the department council and approved by the board of administration.

• The exercise of the rights conferred by the status of doctoral supervisor and the occupation of a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system are carried out in accordance with the legal norms in force.

• The teaching positions in higher education obtained in accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, from the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other countries are automatically recognized by the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești.
• The provisions of this procedure apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens of third countries.
• The teaching positions obtained at other accredited higher education institutions than those provided for in art. 1 are recognized only on the basis of an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at intergovernmental or interuniversity level.
• The occupancy of a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out in accordance with the legal norms in force.
