The professional maternal assistant is the natural person, certified according to the law, who ensures through their activity at their home the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children they take into foster care. Persons residing in Maramures County who request to become professional maternal assistants will submit an evaluation request of their capacity to the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Maramures, accompanied by the documents listed below. The professional maternal assistant certificate is issued for a period of 3 years by the Maramures Child Protection Commission.
