The professional maternal assistant is the natural person certified under the conditions of Government Decision no. 679/2003, who ensures through activity at home the harmonious upbringing, education, and care of children received in placement. Persons residing in Sălaj County who wish to become a maternal assistant will submit an evaluation request to the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Sălaj. The request must obligatorily mention the number of children they wish to protect, their age group and gender, the willingness to care for children with disabilities, HIV infections, as well as the reason for wishing to become a maternal assistant.
