Operational procedure for obtaining the professional maternal assistant certificate*
The professional foster caregiver is a natural person, certified under the conditions of Government Decision no. 679/2003, who, through their activity carried out at their own home, provides the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children received in foster care. Conditions for obtaining the professional foster caregiver certificate:
For a person to receive the professional foster caregiver certificate, they must:
• have full exercise capacity;
• through their behavior in society, health status, and psychological profile, provide guarantees for the proper fulfillment of parental obligations regarding the upbringing, care, and education of their children;
• have access to a residence that meets the needs for food preparation, hygiene, education, and rest of its users, including those of the children who are to be received in foster care;
• attend the professional training courses organized by D.G.A.S.P.C Ialomița
Cannot be a foster caregiver:
• a person who has been convicted by a final court decision for intentionally committing a crime;
• a person suffering from communicable diseases;
• a parent deprived of parental rights;
Persons residing in Ialomița County, interested in becoming a professional foster caregiver, must submit to the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Ialomița an application for the evaluation of their capacity, accompanied by the documents listed below.
The certificate is issued by the Children’s Protection Commission of Ialomița, with a validity of 3 years.
