Ialomita College of Pharmacists*

Suspension of membership status occurs when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits to the headquarters of the Territorial College, namely the College of Pharmacists Ialomita, an application requesting the suspension of membership status. At the time of requesting this suspension, the pharmacist must have paid the membership fee until the end of the year and must meet the condition of continuous professional training through a number of 40 EFC hours for the respective period.

The pharmacist undertakes to inform the College of Pharmacists of Romania within 30 days from resuming activity.

The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, upon making a formal request in this regard, meet the following conditions: hold an official qualification in pharmacy, are not in any of the cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law, are medically fit to practice as a pharmacist, have not interrupted the practice of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained their degree within the last 5 years, have paid the registration fee (the fee is paid into the account of the territorial college RO03BRDE230SV07271202300, amounting to 10% of the minimum wage at the time of registration.

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request. Before the transfer note is issued, the requesting pharmacist is required to pay up to date the dues owed to the college they wish to leave. The transfer note will be handed, with a signature, to the applicant. In the pharmacists’ registry (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm), the college to which the pharmacist has transferred will be mentioned. If at the level of the college from which the pharmacist is transferring a complaint has been registered against them or a disciplinary investigation has been initiated, the complaint or the disciplinary file will be forwarded to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.

In order to proceed with the issuance of a duplicate of the Membership Certificate of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the applicant must submit the complete documentation to the headquarters of the Ialomita College of Pharmacists, in accordance with the provisions of Decision no. 4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania.

Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we wish to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 part I, as well as the Application Norms published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishment of new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of the chief pharmacist - for those who will take on the position of chief), shall address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country's borders.

The methodology for drafting and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of C.F.R. no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

Below we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be drawn up by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issue;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for the issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard application to the College of Pharmacists of Romania for drafting and issuing the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the request, C.F.R. will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will prepare and send it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will prepare a Register of records – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county – and will hand them over to the applicants against signature upon receipt.

Resumption of membership is done based on an application, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits to the headquarters of the territorial College, namely the Ialomita College of Pharmacists, requesting the resumption of membership starting from a specific date.
