In Romania, the Ministry of Education and Research may annually award scholarships for university and postgraduate internships abroad from funds set up for this purpose.

• The Credit and Scholarship Agency (ACBS) ensures the access of the students and graduates of state higher education institutions and those of private accredited higher education institutions to the scholarships offered by the Ministry of Education and Research;
• In Romania, The National Agency for Community Programs in the Field of Vocational Education and Training is a public institution subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Research that administers the European Union program for the implementation of the LLP, YiA, Erasmus +, EEA Scholarship Program.

In Romania, the conditions and the way in which the academic mobility of the students is achieved are regulated by the Methodology regarding the academic mobility of the students approved by order of the minister.
