The economic operator will apply to the territorial unit of the Romanian Bureau of Legal Metrology within whose territorial jurisdiction it is set up, in order to obtain a license for repairing measuring instruments. It will submit and register the relevant documentation provided in the Government Decision 1660/2005 on approval of certain legal metrology instructions, with subsequent modifications: I.M.L. 6.05 - Licenses and P.M.L. 6-03-10 License Issuance for repairing measuring instruments. Within 30 days after the submission of documentation, the specialists of the Romanian Bureau of Legal Metrology will check on the spot the compliance with the mentioned regulations requirements and issue the license for repairing measuring instruments (if they found non-conformities during evaluation, the license for modifying measuring instruments will be issued within 60 days at most.)

In accordance with the provisions of art. 30(1) of the legal metrology instructions I.M.L. 6-05 Approvals, approved by Government Decision no. 1660/2005, as subsequently amended and supplemented, any decision to deny approval must be duly justified, is communicated to the applicant within 10 working days from the date it is made, and the decision specifies the possibility for the applicant to address the competent courts, under the conditions of the law.
