In order to stimulate school attendance, in 2002 the School Supplies Program was launched, which targets students in state primary and lower secondary education, day classes. At the beginning of each school year, packages with school supplies specific to each grade are distributed.

The composition of the school supply packages granted to students is established based on the Methodology for applying the provisions of Law no. 126/2002 for the approval of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 33/2001 regarding the provision of school supplies.

The request for funding submitted by the Ministry of National Education, at the beginning of September 2017, through the Operational Program Assistance for Disadvantaged Persons (POAD) 2014-2020, was approved. The decision allows, starting with this school year, the purchase of supplies for preschoolers and supplementing the packages of supplies granted to primary and lower secondary students with schoolbags.
