The purpose of this procedure is to internally implement the Methodology for the automatic recognition by the higher education institutions of the teaching academic ranks obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad, approved by the Order of the Ministry of National Education No 5.922 of December 6, 2016 and to establish the responsibilities of UPIT regarding the obligations due under the mentioned legal provisions. The procedure applies within the University of Pite?ti for the automatic recognition of the teaching academic ranks obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad. The provisions of this procedure apply to the Romanian citizens, to the citizens of Member States of the European Union, of the European Economic Area, of the Swiss Confederation and to the citizens of third countries. The applicants are eligible and may submit applications for the automatic recognition of the teaching academic ranks, if these teaching academic ranks have been obtained in one of the following categories of higher education institutions: a) accredited institutions of higher education or research and development in a Member State of the European Union, of the European Economic Area and of the Swiss Confederation; b) accredited institutions of higher education or research and development included in the List of prestigious universities from other States, approved by the order of the Minister of National Education and Scientific Research, regularly updated (now OMEN No. 5462 of 2018); c) accredited institutions of higher education or research and development which are the subject of an international convention for mutual recognition, concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level; The applicants who do not fall within one of the above-mentioned situations shall directly address to the National Centre for Equivalence and Recognition of Diplomas of the Ministry of National Education (CNRED). Remedies at law The applicant may appeal the Rector's Decision within 5 business days after receipt, by submitting a reasoned appeal to the UPIT Record Office. The final decision of the university may be appealed to courts.
