- The procedure applies within the "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iași, for the recognition of academic positions obtained in accredited foreign higher education institutions.
- Academic positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other countries included in the "List of prestigious universities from other countries,” approved by order of the relevant Minister and updated periodically, are automatically recognized.
- Academic positions obtained from other accredited higher education institutions than those mentioned in paragraph (1) are recognized only on the basis of an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at the intergovernmental or interuniversity level.
- The provisions of this methodology apply to Romanian citizens, citizens from European Union member states, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third countries.
- Occupying a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out according to the legal norms in force (Law no. 1/2011 with subsequent amendments and completions).
- The recognition of the academic position according to this procedure is valid and produces legal effects at the level of the "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iași.

Appeal routes
- The applicant may contest the Rector's decision within 10 working days from receipt. In the situation where the complaint is filed within a maximum period of 30 days prior to the start of the academic vacation, the resolution period is postponed beginning with the first day of the academic year. The resolution and decision issuance deadlines are calculated starting from this date.
- The appeals commission will re-evaluate the file within 30 working days from the registration of the complaint and will send the report to the Administrative Council for approval and issuance of the Rector's Decision.
- The Rector's Decision is communicated to the applicant.
