The procedure implements OMENCS no. 5922/2016 for the approval of the Methodology regarding the automatic recognition, by higher education institutions, of teaching positions in university education obtained in accredited higher education institutions from abroad (EU and third countries).

The profession of teaching staff (or doctoral supervisor) is found at position no. A.8 in Annex no. 2 of Law no. 200 of 2004 regarding the recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications for regulated professions in Romania, with subsequent amendments and completions.*
