Recognition of qualifications obtained in the territory of other EU member states in regulated health professions, for the purpose of exercising the profession of dentist in the territory of Romania*

For the recognition of the dentist qualification obtained in an EU member state, a state belonging to the European Economic Area, or in the Swiss Confederation, the following steps must be completed

1. national applicants from these states submit to the Ministry of Health a file containing the documents listed below; the file may also be sent by postal/courier services with acknowledgment of receipt.

2. after registration, at the level of the Center for Human Resources in Public Health (CRUSP), the content of the file is checked against the list of documents, including their validity periods

3. in the case of incomplete files, the applicant is notified to complete with the missing or non-compliant documents.

4. complete files are forwarded for analysis to the professional organization - The College of Dentists of Romania.

5. the professional organization issues, as appropriate, the recognition opinion or the application of compensatory measures (aptitude test or adaptation internship).

6. the Ministry of Health draws up the order for the recognition of the professional qualification or notifies the applicant regarding the application of compensatory measures, as the case may be.

Document regarding the physical and mental health of the holder issued by the member state of origin or provenance. The document is valid for 3 months from the date of issue and must be submitted within the validity period. In the situation where, for the access to and exercise of the respective profession, the member state of origin or provenance does not issue this document to its citizens, the applicant will submit a certificate equivalent to the health certificate, issued by that member state.*

Evidence issued by the member state of origin or provenance regarding the good character, morals, or absence of a situation that suspends or prohibits the practice of the profession in the event of serious professional misconduct, namely a certificate confirming the non-existence of temporary or permanent suspensions from practicing the profession or of criminal convictions. The document is valid for 3 months from the date of issue and must be submitted within the validity period. If the member state of origin or provenance does not issue this document to its citizens, the applicant shall submit the certificate issued on the basis of a sworn statement or solemn declaration of the applicant, by the competent judicial or administrative authority or, as the case may be, by the notary or professional organization authorized for this purpose by that state.*
