Methodology regarding the automatic recognition, at the “1 December 1918” University of Alba Iulia, of teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad*

The procedure for the automatic recognition of academic teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad applies to:
a) Romanian citizens,
b) citizens from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation
c) citizens from third countries.
The procedure applies in case of positions obtained in:
a) accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation;
b) prestigious universities from other states provided in the List of prestigious universities from other states, approved by order of the Minister of National Education and periodically updated;
c) other accredited higher education institutions from abroad than those mentioned, only on the basis of an international mutual recognition agreement, concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level;
The applicant submits a request accompanied by a file for the recognition of the teaching position. The evaluation committee, appointed by the rector's decision, analyzes the file, prepares an evaluation report, and issues a decision on the resolution of the request, which shall be communicated to the applicant within 30 days from registration. By exception, this term may be extended if the committee requests additional supporting documents from the applicant or if the documents require additional verification from other competent institutions. The additionally requested documents must be submitted by the applicant no later than 15 working days from the date of the request.
The recognition file can be submitted: - in person, at the General Secretariat of UAB, Alba Iulia, str. Gabriel Bethlen no. 5;
- online, at the address: chava@uab.ro
- through the Single Electronic Contact Point (PCUe)
- by postal/courier services to the address: “1 Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia, Romania, str. Gabriel Bethlen no. 5, postal code 510009.
The decision of the evaluation committee or the appeals committee, as the case may be, as well as the rector's decision, shall be issued to the applicant:
- at the university headquarters, during the university’s working hours;
- by post, to the declared address;
- electronically to the address indicated in the recognition request - through the Single Electronic Contact Point (PCUe).
Recognition by UAB of teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad is valid and produces legal effects only at the level of UAB. Recognition of the teaching position by CNRED is valid and produces legal effects throughout the entire Romanian territory.
Recognition of teaching positions obtained in accredited higher education institutions abroad does not automatically confer the right to occupy a teaching position within UAB. Occupying a teaching position at UAB is achieved by undergoing the procedures and internal regulations in force at the date of the request. Occupying a teaching position in the Romanian higher education system is carried out according to the legal norms in force.

The decision of the evaluation committee may be contested within 10 working days from its communication to the applicant. The contestation is analyzed by the committee for solving contestations, which draws up a report and issues a final decision, within no more than 10 working days from the registration of the contestation.
The Rector issues the Decision of recognition/non-recognition of the teaching position, which is communicated to the applicant within 5 working days from the date of issuance.
Against the Rector's decision of non-recognition of the teaching position, the applicant may file a contestation with the competent court within 30 days from the date of being informed.
