Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we wish to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in the consolidated form as published in Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Application Norms published in Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishment of new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of the chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the position of chief) will address the county colleges for obtaining the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country's borders.

The methodology for drafting and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of C.F.R. no. 1/2007, published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

We present below the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issuance;

- Within a maximum of three days from the receipt of the request for issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard application to the College of Pharmacists of Romania for drafting and issuing the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from the receipt of the application, C.F.R. will draft the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania which will create it and send it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will prepare a Register of records – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county – and will give them to the applicants under signed receipt.

For the issuance of the Current Professional Certificate, a standard application form must be completed and a fee of 100 lei paid into the account of the territorial college,
