Based on ANSVSA Order no. 16/2010, with subsequent amendments and completions, in order to operate a commercial pig farm, an economic operator must be authorized by the county veterinary and food safety directorates, or by the directorate of the municipality of Bucharest, as applicable. The processing time starts from the date the complete documentation is submitted.

Any person who considers themselves harmed in a right or in a legitimate interest, by a public authority, through an administrative act or by the failure to resolve a request within the legal term, may address the competent administrative court, in accordance with the provisions of Law 554/2004. When the authorization file is complete, the applicant will be informed about the visit of the Evaluation Committee designated by the DSVSA for verifying the general and specific operating conditions, as well as for completing the evaluation report which specifies whether the unit complies with the specific veterinary sanitary norms in force.
