Social assistance is granted monthly, to supplement the net monthly income of the family or single person, to ensure the guaranteed minimum income. The payment of social assistance is provided by the Gorj County Agency for Payments and Social Inspection, from the budget of the Ministry of Labor and Social Justice.
For the amounts granted as social assistance, one of the able-bodied adults in the family must perform, monthly, actions or works of local interest, for all family members, without exceeding the normal working regime; failure to fulfill this obligation results in the suspension of social assistance, and if this obligation is not fulfilled within 3 months from suspension, the payment of social assistance ceases.

The proof issued by A.LO.F.M - ADJUD / certificate attesting the loss of work capacity (the medical decision issued by the social insurance expert doctor within the county pension house and other social security rights, for disability pensioners; the certificate issued by the medical expertise commission for persons with disabilities, for persons with disabilities; the medical certificate of work capacity determination, issued by the social insurance expert doctor within the county pension house and other social security rights, for persons with chronic disabling illnesses who are not insured in the public pension system; medical certificate issued by the family doctor or, as the case may be, by the specialist doctor, for persons with conditions that cause temporary incapacity for work.*
