Registration or, as the case may be, enrollment in the National Register of Phonograms is mandatory for authorized natural persons or legal entities conducting on the territory of Romania the activities of producing, importing, distributing phonograms, according to art. 4 of G.O. 25/2006. In accordance with the provisions of GEO 43/2010, art. III, pt. 2. ref. to art. 6 para. (1) of GO no. 25/2006, enrollment in the National Register of Phonograms of authorized natural persons and legal entities conducting on the territory of Romania the activity of marketing phonograms is optional.

Documents for registration must include the following:

Standard applications: Forms 1, 2

Copies of massive:

- the registration certificate at the Trade Register Office;

- the tax registration certificate only for non-profit legal entities;

- copy of the invoice/payment order regarding the payment for the registration operation in the register.

Fees for registration operations are provided by H.G.1086/2008, being the following:

- registration for distribution activity 50 lei;

- registration of a work point 20 lei, - registration of a storage space 20 lei;

,- application for completing missing documents, following the rejection of the initial registration application - 10 lei.
