The term for resolving the recognition file is 30 days from the moment of submitting the application, and the appeal can be filed within 30 days from the communication of the result, with its resolution being made within a maximum of 90 days from the appeal. The recognition file is evaluated by an evaluation committee, consisting of three teaching staff members, appointed by the Department Council that manages the branch of science in which the doctoral title is granted, and delivers a solution regarding the recognition request, which is validated by the Department Council. The teaching staff in the committee must have a doctoral title in the same branch of science or in a related branch. Appeals are subject to the approval of the University Senate, which appoints a reevaluation committee formed of three teaching staff members, other than those who were part of the initial committee, to reanalyze the recognition file. The solution of the committee appointed by the senate is final and is validated in the first session of this body. The recognition or non-recognition decision is issued by the rector, following the unchallenged solution delivered by the evaluation committee, validated by the Department Council, or the solution of the reevaluation committee, validated by the senate.
