This methodology establishes the manner in which the recognition of the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad, is carried out within the “Iuliu Hațieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy Cluj-Napoca.
The provisions of this methodology apply to Romanian citizens, citizens of member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and citizens from third states, who have obtained the doctoral diploma and the title of doctor in sciences or in a professional field, obtained abroad in accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation, and in prestigious universities from other states included in the “List of prestigious universities from other states,” approved by OMECTS no. 5825/2016 and updated periodically.

The decision of non-recognition can be contested within 15 days from the notification, by a signed request submitted to the University Registry. Appeals are resolved within 5 days from registration by the Appeals Resolution Committee. Subsequently, the final decision of the university can be challenged in court.
