This procedure regulates the recognition of the doctoral diploma and the doctor title obtained abroad, in the doctoral fields accredited within IOSUD - National University of Theatre and Film Arts; IOSUD-UNATC recognizes the doctoral diploma and the doctor title obtained at Parsons:

a) accredited higher education institutions from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation; b) accredited higher education or research institutions included in the List of prestigious universities from other states approved by order of the Minister of National Education and updated periodically; c) accredited higher education institutions which are the subject of international agreements on mutual recognition, concluded at intergovernmental or inter-university level;

IOSUD-UNATC recognizes the doctoral diploma and the doctor of science title for the purpose of enrolling in postgraduate programs, obtaining habilitation, or occupying a teaching or research position within the university.

​The recognition of the doctoral diploma and the doctor title by the National University of Theatre and Film Arts is valid and produces legal effects at the level of UNATC.

The title of doctor can be found in Annex 2 of Law no. 200 of 2004 regarding the recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications for regulated professions in Romania, with subsequent amendments and completions.*

The doctoral diploma subject to recognition is authenticated with the Hague Apostille for states that are parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, and for other states, the study document is superlegalized or accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the competent authority in the country of origin. Exemption from apostille or superlegalization is permitted under the law, an international treaty to which Romania is a party, or on the basis of reciprocity.*
