Harghita College of Pharmacists*

The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, by making an express request in this regard, meet the following conditions:

- hold an official pharmacy qualification,

- are not in any of the cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law,

- are medically fit to practice the profession of pharmacist,

- have not interrupted the practice of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained their bachelor's degree in the last 5 years,

- have paid the registration fee (the fee is to be paid to the account of the territorial college .... in the amount of 10% of the minimum wage),

Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications: In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 Part I, as well as the Application Rules published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 Part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishment of new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of chief pharmacist – for those who will take over the position of chief) will address the county colleges to obtain the Current Professional Certificate. Also, this document is required for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country. The methodology for preparing and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of C.F.R. no. 1/2007, published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007. Below, we present the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college to which the applicant is registered; - The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issuance;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request to issue the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard application to the College of Pharmacists of Romania for the preparation and issuance of the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the request, the C.F.R. will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will prepare and send it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will prepare a Registry of records – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county – and will hand them over to the applicants with a receipt signature. The fee for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, in the amount of 100 lei, will be paid into the account of the territorial College (RO22 RZBR 0000 0600 1439 8871 Raiffeisen Bank).

To obtain the Current Professional Certificate, the pharmacist will submit to the territorial college a file containing the documents attached in the section “required documents”.

The suspension of membership status occurs when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits a request at the headquarters of the Territorial College, requesting the suspension of membership status. At the time of requesting this suspension, the pharmacist must have paid the membership fee until the end of the year and must meet the condition of continuous professional training with a number of 40 EFC hours for the respective period.

The pharmacist is obliged, within 30 days from resuming activity, to inform the College of Pharmacists of Romania.

Resumption of membership is done on the basis of a request, which the pharmacist submits at the headquarters of the territorial College, requesting the resumption of membership starting from a certain date. In the file with the request, the pharmacist also submits the documents attached in the "required documents" section.

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request. Before the transfer note is issued, the requesting pharmacist is obliged to pay in full the fee owed to the college from which they wish to leave. The transfer note will be handed over to the applicant, under signature. In the register of pharmacists, the college to which the pharmacist has transferred will be mentioned. If a complaint has been recorded at the college from which the pharmacist is transferring or a disciplinary investigation has been initiated, the complaint or the disciplinary file will be forwarded to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.

In the event that the holder loses, in any way, the Membership Certificate of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, a duplicate will be issued to them upon request. The duplicate is issued based on a request submitted to the College of Pharmacists where the pharmacist is registered as a member of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, as well as proof of publication of the loss in a nationally circulated newspaper. The duplicate will bear the series and number of the original certificate followed by a number attesting/highlighting its status as a duplicate, namely the number of copies issued.
