The professional foster assistant is the natural person, certified under the conditions of Government Decision no. 679/2003, who, through the activity carried out at their home, ensures the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children they receive in placement.

The person seeking to become a professional foster assistant will address an application for capacity evaluation to DGASPC Ilfov. The application will obligatorily mention the number of children for whom the applicant considers they can simultaneously provide optimal care conditions, their age group and gender, and the availability to care for children with disabilities/impairments, HIV-infected or suffering from AIDS.
