The professional maternal assistant – is the natural person, certified under the conditions of Government Decision no. 679/2003 regarding the conditions for obtaining the certificate, the certification procedures, and the status of the professional maternal assistant, who ensures through the activity she/he carries out at her/his own home the upbringing, care, and education necessary for the harmonious development of the children she/he receives in foster care.
The purpose of the working procedure is to establish a unitary and common methodological framework for the specialists within the Case Management Department for Maternal Assistants who interact with professional maternal assistants and children for whom a special protection measure has been instituted, the objective for the latter being their upbringing, care, and education, to ensure an affective and secure environment, necessary for the harmonious development of the children.
