Brașov College of Pharmacists*

In order to proceed with the issuance of a duplicate of the Membership Certificate of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the applicant must submit the complete documentation at the headquarters of the College of Pharmacists Bucharest, in accordance with the provisions of Decision no.4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the documents listed below.

Resuming membership is done based on a request, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits at the headquarters of the Territorial College, respectively the College of Pharmacists Bucharest, through which they request the resumption of membership starting from a certain date.

The suspension of membership is done when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits a request at the headquarters of the Territorial College, respectively the College of Pharmacists of Bucharest, requesting the suspension of membership. At the time of requesting this suspension, the pharmacist must have paid the membership fee until the end of the year and must fulfill the condition of continuous professional training, with a number of 40 EFC hours during the respective period.

The pharmacist is obliged to inform the College of Pharmacists of Romania within 30 days from resuming activity.

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request. Before issuing the transfer note, the requesting pharmacist is obliged to pay up to date the membership fee owed to the college from which they wish to leave. The transfer note will be handed, with signature, to the applicant.

In the register of pharmacists (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm), the college to which the pharmacist has transferred will be mentioned. If, at the level of the college from which the pharmacist is transferring, a complaint has been registered against them or a disciplinary investigation has been initiated, the complaint or the disciplinary file will be forwarded to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.

Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in its consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 part I, as well as the Application Norms published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in case of establishment of new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of the chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the position of chief), must address the county colleges for obtaining the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country.

The methodology for preparing and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by the Decision of the National Council of C.F.R. no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

We present below the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be prepared by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issuance;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard application to the College of Pharmacists of Romania for the preparation and issuance of the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the application, C.F.R. will prepare the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will prepare and transmit it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will keep a Register of records – with identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in the respective county – and will hand them over to the applicants against signature of receipt.

The fee for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, in the amount of 100 lei, will be paid into the account of the territorial College RO75 RNCB 0053 1505 8713 0001.

The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, by making an express request in this regard, meet the following conditions: hold an official qualification title in pharmacy, are not found in any of the cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law, are medically fit to practice the profession of pharmacist, have not interrupted the practice of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained the bachelor's degree in the last 5 years, have paid the registration fee (the fee is paid to the territorial college account in the amount of 208 lei for persons who registered within 1 YEAR from graduation and 235 lei for other persons).
