Galați College of Pharmacists*

In order to proceed with the issuance of a duplicate of the Certificate of Membership of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the applicant must submit to the headquarters of the College of Pharmacists in Galati the complete documentation, in accordance with the provisions of Decision no. 4/2004 of the National Council of the College of Pharmacists of Romania, the documents presented below.

Resuming membership is done based on a request, which the applicant, the pharmacist, submits to the headquarters of the Territorial College, respectively the College of Pharmacists Galați, through which they request the resumption of membership starting from a certain date.

In support of the requests, the documents listed below are attached.

The membership certificate is granted to pharmacists who, upon making an express request in this regard, fulfill the following conditions: hold an official pharmacy qualification, are not in any of the cases of unworthiness or incompatibility provided by law, are medically fit to practice the pharmacist profession, have not interrupted the practice of the profession for more than 5 years or have obtained their bachelor's degree in the last 5 years, have paid the registration fee (the fee is paid into the account of the territorial college of Galați, amounting to 10% of the minimum wage).

Suspension of membership is carried out when the applicant, the pharmacist, for certain reasons wishes to interrupt their activity for a certain period of time and submits to the headquarters of the territorial College, namely the Galați College of Pharmacists, a request through which they ask for the suspension of their membership status. At the moment when they request this suspension, the pharmacist must have paid the membership fee up to the end of the year and must meet the condition of continuous professional training by having 40 EFC hours during the respective period.

The transfer note is issued by the college where the pharmacist is registered, based on a request. Before issuing the transfer note, the requesting pharmacist is obliged to pay up to date the membership fee owed to the college they wish to leave. The transfer note will be handed, under signature, to the applicant. In the pharmacists’ registry (https://portal.tm-c.eu/LstFarma/ColegFarm), the college to which the pharmacist has transferred will be mentioned. If a complaint against the pharmacist has been registered at the college from which the transfer is requested, or if a disciplinary investigation has been initiated, the complaint or the disciplinary file will be sent to the college to which the pharmacist is transferring.

Regarding the Current Professional Certificate, we would like to make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Law no. 266/2008 in the consolidated form as published in the Official Gazette no. 448/30.06.2009 part I, as well as the Implementation Norms published in the Official Gazette no. 538/03.07.2009 part I, pharmacists who will hold the position of chief pharmacist in a pharmaceutical unit (in cases of establishing new pharmaceutical units, as well as changes of chief pharmacist - for those who will take over the position of chief), will address the county colleges in order to obtain the Current Professional Certificate.

Also, this document is necessary for pharmacists who wish to practice their profession outside the country's borders.

The methodology for drafting and issuing the Current Professional Certificate was established by Decision of the National Council of C.F.R. no. 1/2007, decision published in the Official Gazette of Romania Part I no. 324 of 15.05.2007.

We present below the main provisions of Decision no. 1/2007, as follows:

- The Current Professional Certificate will be drafted by the College of Pharmacists of Romania and issued by the territorial college where the applicant is registered;

- The validity of the Current Professional Certificate is 3 months from the date of issue;

- Within a maximum of three days from receiving the request to issue the Current Professional Certificate, the territorial college will send the standard application to the College of Pharmacists of Romania for the drafting and issuing of the document;

- Within a maximum of 30 days from receiving the application, the C.F.R. will draft the certificate and send it to the territorial college;

- The Current Professional Certificate will be issued by the College of Pharmacists of Romania, which will prepare it and send it to the territorial college;

- The territorial college will prepare a Record Register – with the identification data of the Current Professional Certificates issued to pharmacists in that county – and will hand them to the applicants under signature of receipt.

The fee for issuing the Current Professional Certificate, in the amount of 150 lei, will be paid into the account of the territorial college.
