Social assistance is granted monthly, supplementing the net monthly income of the family or single person, to ensure the guaranteed minimum income.

The granting of the family support allowance aims to supplement the incomes of families to provide better conditions for raising and educating children, as well as to encourage school attendance by school-age children in the care of low-income families, in courses of a form of education organized according to the law, pursuant to art.1, para.(2) of Law no. 277/2010 regarding the family support allowance, republished, with subsequent amendments and additions.

Granting aid to cover parts of the expenses related to heating the home during the cold season.

In case the applicant is dissatisfied with the way the request was resolved, the provisions of Article 35 of GEO no. 70/2011 regarding social protection measures during the cold season are applicable: ,,The mayor's provisions regarding the granting, rejection, modification or cessation of the heating aid can be challenged according to the provisions of the Administrative Litigation Law no. 554/2004, with subsequent amendments and completions.'
