National Authority for Consumer Protection*

Legal and natural persons authorized to perform precious metals and precious stones operations notify National Authority for Consumers' Protection on changes made within the company.

Economic operators from EU, EEA, and Turkey member states who are registered with the competent authority are required, before starting operations with precious metals and precious stones on the territory of Romania, to notify the National Authority for Consumer Protection regarding this fact.

The necessary documents can be accessed on the website of the National Authority for Consumer Protection at the address: www.anpc.gov.ro or at the headquarters of the Precious Metals Directorate in Bucharest, str. Fabrica de Chibrituri no. 30, State Mint premises, entrance no. 3, sector 5.

Authorization represents the procedure which enables legal persons to perform precious metals and precious stones operations, that is materialized through the issuance of the authorization document by the National Authority for Consumers' Protection, that has legal value of individual administrative act, in favor of its holder. The authorization is issued for an indefinite period and it is annually vised.

For full or partial waiver of authorization, legal and natural persons concerned shall submit to the National Authority for Consumers' Protection an application together with the original of the authorization document. The personnel within National Authority for Consumers' Protection shall make the corresponding entries on the second page of the authorization document, subject to approval of the management of Precious Metals and Precious Stones Departament, in this regard.

For releasing the duplicate of the authorization document, legal and natural persons concerned shall submit to the National Authority for Consumers' Protection an application, the proof of payment of the announcement by which the authorization document is declared void and the proof of payment of the fee for releasing the duplicate in amount of 50 RON. The duplicate will have on the first page the mention Duplicate and on the second page the mention Document with original value and the signatures of the general manager of the Precious Metals and Precious Stones Departament and of the president of the National Authority for Consumers' Protection.

Economic operators, who have obtained the right to mark shall receive a document, signed by the general manager of Precious Metals and Precious Stones Departament, through which the responsible personnel within Precious Metals and Precious Stones Departament establishes the model of the specific quarantee marks.

Legal persons interested in completing the authorization document with new operations, submit an authorization application completed with the operations concerned, together with the proof of payment, in respect thereof

Authorization represents the procedure which enables natural persons to perform precious metals and precious stones operations, that is materialized through the issuance of the authorization document by the National Authority for Consumers' Protection, that has legal value of individual administrative act, in favor of its holder. The authorization is issued for an indefinite period and it is annually vised.

The responsible personnel within Precious Metals and Precious Stones Departament will visa the authorization document on the second page of it and will register in a record, that the economic operator has applied his visa.

Natural persons interested in completing the authorization document with new operations, submit an authorization application completed with the operations concerned, together with the proof of payment, in respect thereof.
